The 1693 charter spurred the transformation of the rural landscape into a major production centre for linen, flax and other industries which sustained the local economy.<\/div><div class=\"x78zum5\">\u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/div><div>This commemorative edition contains reflections of the past authored by members of our wide diaspora community as well as locals.
